  • Prosecutors revealed on Monday, June 23 at the Brisbane Magistrates Court that they have new evidence against an influencer who is accused of poisoning her baby
  • The 34-year-old was arrested on Jan. 16 after being accused of poisoning her daughter by giving her medication that triggered seizures
  • The case has been adjourned to August

Prosecutors are set to reveal more evidence in the case of an influencer who allegedly poisoned her 1-year-old daughter.

PEOPLE previously reported that the Australian woman, who was arrested on Jan. 16 and cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of making her daughter sick by giving her medication that triggered seizures.

On Monday, June 23,  the Brisbane Magistrates Court was told by the prosecution that a pill, which underwent genetic testing after being taken from the hospital, was found to have the defendant’s DNA, according to WA Today.

An interim report indicated that the DNA of the mother, 34, was found on the medication, the outlet reported.

“It relates to a pill seized from the hospital that was sent for DNA testing and the interim report was returned detecting the DNA of the defendant,” the prosecutor said, per 1News.

According to WA Today, defense attorney Mathew Cuskelly reportedly stated the appointment of a barrister was being sought after, adding that the evidence was complex.

PEOPLE has contacted the Brisbane Magistrates Court for comment.

According to 1News, Cuskelly, who appeared via phone, requested that the case to be postponed.

“We continue to review the brief [of evidence] … I have recruited an assistant with a medical background who is reviewing quite a voluminous amount of medical documentation,” he said, per the outlet. “It is quite a large and complex brief.”

Cuskelly’s client, who is on bail, was reportedly not required to appear in the court hearing.

Per WA Today and 9News, the court was adjourned to August by Deputy Chief Magistrate Anthony Gett.

According to WA Today, the baby girl, who was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis and suffered from benign tumors, was being given medication that medical professionals believed was causing seizures.

While the medication was reportedly stopped, police claimed the mother still had the prescription in her possession, the outlet reported.

PEOPLE also previously reported that the woman had raised around $37,500 in donations after sharing videos of the the child online.

Queensland Police previously said that the mother had been charged with “five counts of administering poison with intent to harm, three counts of preparation to commit crimes with dangerous things, and one count each of torture, making child exploitation material and fraud.”
