Police Give Update on Influencer Lola Doll's Condition After She Was Shot Multiple Times By Luke Chinman

Police have shared an update on influencer Lola Doll’s condition.

On Sept. 6, the 33-year-old influencer, whose real name is Lolita Callendar, was shot multiple times outside of her home in Georgetown, Guyana, according to the Guyana Police Force (GPF). Per police, Doll was in critical condition after she “sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands and right leg,” receiving treatment at Georgetown Public Hospital.

In a Sept. 10 press release, published by Guyana newspaper Stabroek News, GPF said that the content creator’s condition was “improving,” but didn’t share any more details.

Doll, who has over 53,000 followers on Instagram, is known online for her lifestyle content and music videos.

Following the shooting, Stabroek News reported that police had arrested one person in connection with the shooting, though they did not release his name. The outlet later reported that the suspect had been released on a $500,000 bail after a 72-hour detention.

Shortly after the shooting, GPF also announced on Facebook that suspect Paul Daby Jr. was wanted for attempted murder. Stabroek News later reported that he had turned himself in and still remains in custody.

In an interview with Stabroek News, Doll’s brother recalled the shooting.

“I was inside at home when I hear gunshots and run out to see was what, only to see me sister lying in she car and blood, if you see blood, pouring out,” described Doll’s brother to the outlet. “We rushed her here… I can’t tell you where all she was shot, but she was shot in like her face, her side, I don’t know where else… Blood, so much blood everywhere. She lost a lot of blood but she is a fighter.”

Doll’s brother added that he was unable to spot the alleged shooter because he was focused on getting his sister to the hospital. Other family members and friends joined Doll at the hospital the night she was admitted, the Stabroek News also reported.
