The NYPD has released new photos of a person sought for questioning in the killing of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, who was gunned down in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the NYPD wrote, “Below are photos of a person of interest wanted for questioning regarding the Midtown Manhattan homicide on Dec. 4. This does not appear to be a random act of violence; all indications are that it was a premeditated, targeted attack.”
In the picture, the person of interest can be seen smiling.
This is the first picture showing most of the person’s full face. Other photos show the person wearing a mask with a hood on.
Thompson was shot just before 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, as he was heading to an investor conference for UnitedHealthCare’s parent company at the New York Hilton Midtown.
His alleged killer was seen on video shooting him from behind and then shooting him again after he had fallen on the ground near the wall of the hotel. Thompson was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The alleged shooter then fled on an electric Citi Bike. Police are still searching for him.
