Former Olympic figure skater Surya Bonaly has claimed that her medals have been stolen from her Las Vegas home.

In a Friday, Nov. 7 Instagram post, Bonaly, 51, who was born in France, shared a carousel of photos from her career and wrote, “You see all those medals that I won in the past while competing in different worlds and European championships are sadly gone.”

“Several days ago someone I mean a couple  burglarized my home  and stole all my valuable. Little reminder to Vegas residents or Pawn Shops if you ever see some foreign gold and silver medals for sales Please Please call the Police immediately thanks🙏 [sic].”

At the time of the alleged incident, the five-time European champion and nine-time French national champion was in Minnesota taking care of her mother who has been diagnosed with lung, breast and sternum cancer, according to FOX5 Vegas.

The outlet reported that Bonaly, who competed at three Winter Olympics and now works as a trainer, is also undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

The sportswoman has filed a police report with Metro’s Summerlin Area Command, according to the outlet.

Bonaly told FOX5 Vegas that the thieves allegedly broke into her home over four consecutive days. She said that she returned to find her front door open and her home trashed.

In footage obtained by the outlet, surveillance cameras captured multiple people arriving at Bonaly’s home, along with shattered windows and cameras taken down.

On the first day of the alleged burglary, an individual in a black hoodie was seen with a woman wearing what looked like a delivery vest. According to the outlet, the former athlete then found a similar vest just one street away from her home.

“I think it’s definitely organized by a company or by some bad people,” Bonaly told the outlet.

“I realized that my medals were gone,” Bonaly continued. “European champion or world champion, junior, everything — any medals that I had with my skating.”

Bonaly added that the theft has left her feeling “mad.” “I feel like sometimes I feel like I want to cry,” she said, adding, “Some people just feel like it’s better to steal something from someone than to go to work.”

“I’m hoping that I can find maybe some medals. I’m hoping, and I pray really that no [one’s] gonna melt that medal,” Bonaly, who finished 4th at the 1994 Winter Olympics, went on to say.

The investigation is ongoing, per the outlet.
