An elderly West Virginia woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her own daughter over the weekend — a little more than two months after reportedly bailing her out of jail on another charge.
Elaine Labenne was found dead inside the home she shared with her daughter, Shanna Marie Vannorman, on Saturday night, March 22, after officers arrived at the scene following a report of a stabbing, according to a statement from the Clarksburg Police Department shared with PEOPLE.
Vannorman, 41, is currently being held in custody at the North Central Regional Jail in West Virginia and has been charged with murder in connection with the death of her 64-year-old mother, according to the police statement.
WVNews reported that Vannorman was arrested in January on accusations she assaulted a government official. She was also charged at the time with disorderly conduct, according to the outlet, which reported that Vannorman’s mother has bailed her out of jail on at least one of the two previous charges.
