A Florida man was arrested on a murder charge in connection with the 1997 murder of Tanya Denise Jackson.
Andrew Dykes, a resident of Tampa, Florida, was arrested on a warrant from Nassau County, N.Y. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, ABC News reports. Dykes, 66, was arrested in connection with Tanya Denise Jackson’s 1997 murder, once associated with the Gilgo Beach serial killings.
Dykes appeared before a Florida judge on murder charges on Thursday, Dec. 4, the outlet reports.
PEOPLE has reached out to the Nassau County Police Department for comment.

Jackson’s two-year-old daughter, Tatiana Marie Dykes, was also killed, and her remains were discovered 14 years later. For decades, Jackson was referred to as “Peaches” due to a distinctive peach tattoo discovered on her body, and her daughter was referred to as Baby Doe. In April 2025, the mother and daughter were identified genetic genealogy testing.
Jackson was a U.S. Army veteran, and was 26 when she was killed.

That same month, Nassau County Police offered a $25,000 reward to anyone with information on the cold case.

When Tatiana’s remains were discovered in 2011 along the southern shore of Long Island, N.Y., the murders became associated with the Gilgo Beach murders. In 2023, architect and father of two Rex Heuermann was arrested in connection with three of the deaths. He has since been charged with murder in relation to seven of the deaths.
Heuermann was never charged in connection with Jackson and her daughter’s deaths.
