Luigi Mangione’s Christmas meals have been revealed.
The 27-year-old is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) ahead of his trial in connection with the murder of healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. MDC also held Sean “Diddy” Combs until he was recently moved to Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey.
On Thursday, Dec. 25, his second Christmas spent behind bars since being arrested on Dec. 9, 2024, MDC will serve fruit, cereal, “non-breakfast pastry” and skim milk for breakfast, per the planned food menu from the prison that PEOPLE obtained. Breakfast starts at 6 a.m. every day at MDC.
Christmas Day lunch, which is typically served at 11 a.m., has the choice of baked Cornish hen or barbecue tofu and macaroni and cheese or spinach. Cranberry sauce, a beverage and either two dinner rolls or “holiday dessert” round out the rest of the meal.

Mangione will be served two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, whole wheat bread, fruit and a beverage for dinner. Dinner is served after the 4 p.m. headcount.
Mangione was in court in early December for days of evidence suppression hearings ahead of his trial in connection with the death of Thompson, who was fatally shot on a Midtown Manhattan street last year.
He has pleaded not guilty to murder charges at the state and federal level as well as forgery charges in Pennsylvania. Mangione is expected to go to trial in 2026.
