One person was killed and four others injured in a shooting that occurred during a balloon release to honor a murder victim in St. Louis, Mo., authorities said.
Police believe the gunfire erupted after a group made an appearance at the vigil in Hamilton Heights on Oct. 8, according to a press release from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene around 7 p.m. and found multiple people with gunshot wounds, police said, adding that one firearm was recovered from the scene.

Angelo Davis, 18, was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said.
Four other men, ages 33, 30, 21 and 20 were also shot. According to police, the 21-year-old man is listed in critical unstable condition.
Police have not made any arrests and said detectives are working to identify any gunshot victims “who may also be suspects.”
