Actor Isaiah Stokes, who appeared in episodes of Boardwalk Empire, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and more, has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of the 2021 murder of a New York City man.
Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Stokes’ sentencing in a press release on Friday, March 21. The actor was found guilty earlier this month of murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree in the shooting death of 37-year-old Tyrone Jones.
“Justice has now been served for the premeditated murder perpetrated by this defendant, and he will now spend 25 years to life in prison as a direct consequence of his criminal actions,” Katz said in a statement.
During a two-week trial, prosecutors said Stokes, 45, had sought revenge against Jones since October 2020 when the victim kicked him out of his birthday party during an altercation at a Queens club.
According to the D.A.’s office, Stokes was accused of placing a GPS tracker underneath Jones’ car in late January 2021.
Prosecutors said that Stokes had tracked down Jones on the afternoon of Feb. 7, 2021, and was sitting in a parked SUV nearby just before the murder. The actor then got out of the SUV and walked around the area for about 15 minutes before pulling out a gun and firing 11 times at Jones’ car.
Jones, who was waiting for a friend inside the car, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest, prosecutors added, and medical personnel later pronounced him dead at the scene.
Stokes then drove back to his apartment in Queens’ Rego Park neighborhood, and later that afternoon, he returned the SUV to a rental location in Hackensack, N.J., per the D.A.’s office.
The actor was found guilty on March 7 following his two-week jury trial, which began on Feb. 13.
Katz previously called the fatal shooting a “calculated murder” and said Stokes was “intent on revenge.”
“According to the charges and trial testimony, 37-year-old victim Tyrone Jones and the defendant, a part-time actor, met during the victim’s birthday party at a Queens club in October 2020,” Katz said in a statement in a March 10 press release.

She added: “Both parties were involved in an altercation related to Stokes’ inappropriate behavior toward female party guests. After Stokes refused Jones’ request that he leave, Stokes was injured during a physical altercation with other partygoers.”
Stokes has been a TV actor since the mid-2000s, appearing in a 2009 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as well as in episodes of Boardwalk Empire, Power, Blue Bloods and The Mysteries of Laura.
He also records and performs music under the name I$AIAH, according to his IMDB page.
