A Florida influencer has been arrested after an alleged hit-and-run killed one and injured three.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, Beverly Yvonne Slaughter allegedly ran a red light while traveling at a “high rate of speed,” striking another vehicle just after 1 a.m. on April 29.
After the crash, which the affidavit says was captured by surveillance video footage from a nearby McDonald’s, Slaughter allegedly fled from the site on foot. A police officer pursued Slaughter, the affidavit continues, and when she was questioned about leaving the scene after the crash, Slaughter told the officer that “her boyfriend told her to run away.”
Per the affidavit, Slaughter and the four victims were transported to Broward Health Medical Center. Four days later, one of the four passengers of the struck car died after being taken off life support.

Records say Slaughter’s license was suspended in 2021 and that she was convicted twice for driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, fleeing law enforcement and reckless driving in 2023.
