A crumpled note in a Jersey Mike’s Subs bathroom may have saved a woman’s life, leading Florida authorities to a home where they say she was held captive, beaten and isolated by her pro-wrestler boyfriend.
The note — which included a plea for help and the address of a nearby apartment — was found inside the Navarre sub shop by an employee who called police, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a press release.
“There was this little piece of crumpled up paper that was shoved next to our toilet paper dispenser, and it looked like a piece of trash,” employee Eleanor Coffee told NBC 15. “She was like, ‘Please help me. I’m at this address in Navarre. I need you to call the police and do a wellness check.'”
Employees at the sandwich shop contacted authorities, who carried out a wellness check at the address. There, they found a battered 29-year-old woman who detailed “repeated assaults, threats involving weapons, and being held in isolation for a span of several months,” per the release.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment of multiple injuries, including suspected broken bones, according to the release.

The woman’s boyfriend, 34-year-old Jordan Williams, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and false imprisonment, felony and misdemeanor battery, and battery by strangulation, per the police.
The release noted that he had been the subject of multiple prior domestic abuse calls.
Williams is a wrestler in a local circuit that performs under the name “Jayden Steele,” according to WKRC and several wrestling-oriented publications.
He was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail on Thursday and ordered to be held without bond, according to online court records. His arraignment is scheduled for June 19.
