A Texas man is accused of killing and disemboweling his own father, later telling police that he believed an “alien had harvested” his father’s organs.
Jaime Adrian Contreras, 39, was arrested Monday and charged with killing his father Victor Contreras Sr., according to The El Paso Times, KTSM, and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Citing a police affidavit, local KFOX 14 also reported that Victor Sr. was found with a slit throat, severe head injuries and several stab wounds in addition to being disemboweled. PEOPLE has reached out to the El Paso Police Department for more information.
The outlets report that Victor Sr. was found dead under a bloody sheet in his bedroom after his son, Victor Martin Contreras, went to the house to check on his 74-year-old father after several concerning phone calls in which his father said his brother Jaime was “acting crazy again.”
The son told police he noticed a foul smell coming from an open window at the home before discovering his deceased father, according to the Telegram.
The younger Victor also found his father’s red Jeep Wrangler missing from the house after discovering his father’s body, prompting him to send several text messages to his brother Jaime, according to KFOX 14.
The outlet, citing a police affidavit, reported that detectives found blood throughout the house, which indicated to investigators that there was possibly a struggle before Victor Sr. was killed.

When authorities later located Jaime and asked him where his father was at, he told detectives that his father was “in heaven,” according to KFOX 14. Investigators also said Jaime had an injured right hand and a deep laceration on his right pinky finger, according to KFOX 14, citing the affidavit. Jaime told investigators he received the injuries from “battling.”
Per court documents cited by KTSM, when asked what he meant by battling, Jaime allegedly told investigators that an alien had harvested his organs a few days prior, and believed his father to be an extraterrestrial.
The El Paso Times reports that Jaime is currently being held on a $2 million bond.
