A Florida man was arrested last week after he allegedly tried to run over a group of kids with his car after they “ding-dong ditched” his home.
Collier County Sheriff’s Office records reviewed by PEOPLE show that John P. Albanos was arrested on July 12 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with the intent to commit a felony.
Albanos, 51, was released on bond the next day and is due back in court in early August, records show. A spokesperson for the Naples Police Department did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment Thursday on Albanos’ arrest.

Albanos did not take kindly to the prank, according to the Gulf Coast News, which reported that police allege he grew angry with the kids, got in his car, and began to chase them down the street as they ran away.
Eventually, according to the news outlet, the kids ran into a neighboring yard to avoid getting hit by Albanos and a neighbor who witnessed the incident called 911 after trying to steer Albanos’ attention away from the children.
