A Las Vegas man who was wanted in connection with the 2023 murder of his girlfriend was arrested in Mexico, where authorities allege he killed another woman.

Oswaldo Perez-Sanchez is accused of having shot his girlfriend, Tabatha Tozzi, following an argument on April 22, 2023, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. He is accused of carjacking a witness and fleeing, the FBI said.

The FBI subsequently joined the LVMPD’s search for Perez-Sanchez, which stretched two years.

On Tuesday, April 15, prosecutors in Sonora, Mexico announced that they had arrested a man accused of killing a woman they identified as Viviana Karley N and noted that the suspect was also wanted by the FBI in connection with a 2023 murder.

Following the announcement by Mexican authorities, LVMPD confirmed that Perez-Sanchez had been apprehended. Police said that he remains in Mexico on local charges as of April 16, pending extradition to the United States.

It is not immediately clear if Perez-Sanchez has entered a plea.

Following her death, a GoFundMe was started to benefit Tozzi’s family, raising over $54,000.

“Tabatha was the head of our household,” her mother wrote in the GoFundMe, noting she would help pay expenses for her Brazilian grandmother who suffers from dementia. “She was our lifeline.”
