A New Hampshire inmate is accused of attempting to solicit the murder of two people.
Edward LePore, 45, was arrested on a warrant charging him with conspiracy to commit murder and solicitation to commit murder, according to the Keene Police Department.
According to court documents cited by WMUR, LePore, an inmate at Cheshire County House of Corrections, asked a fellow inmate if he knew someone he could hire to kill a Maine woman he claimed was his wife and a man who was supposedly married to her.
LePore allegedly told the inmate that he could shell out $50,000 for each killing, and that the money for the hitman would potentially come from the sale of his house and his mother’s business once he got out of jail, per the court documents.
The inmate told jail personnel, who then alerted police, according to the documents
During the subsequent investigation, communications between the two were monitored by police, per the Keene Police Department.
Per court documents, investigators reached out to the woman LePore alleged was his wife. She told police that she was never married to him and that the two had been friends and spent time together, but she recently blocked his number after his arrest, WMUR reported.
