Police in South Africa have launched a manhunt for suspects after eight people were shot and killed at a tavern in the southeast city of Durban.
The attack occurred on Friday evening when police say multiple gunmen entered the bar and opened fire, according to a statement from the South African Police Service.
When first responders arrived at the scene they found eight people “lying in a pool with multiple gunshot wounds,” police said in a statement.
The police service added that six of the victims were men and two were women. Their ages ranged from 22 to 40 years old.
“Investigations into the possible motive of the killings are underway,” the statement said, adding that police have started a manhunt for multiple suspects.
The South African Police Service are asking for anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.
