  • The former quarterback, who played for various teams through his 10 seasons in the NFL, is in the hospital in “stable condition”

Mark Sanchez is in the hospital after being stabbed in Indianapolis.

The former NFL quarterback, 38, was in the Indiana city on Saturday, Oct. 4, when he was attacked, Fox Sports said in a statement. TMZ was first to report the news.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said the incident took place shortly after midnight local time and involved “two adult males, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds.”

“Detectives believe this was an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence,” authorities continued, adding: “Both men received medical treatment. The man with the apparent stab wounds remains hospitalized in stable condition.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and the “case will be presented to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision,” per the IMPD.
