A 51-year-old Florida man is in custody after authorities allege he threw bottles of urine into a local business.
John Connaughton, 51, is facing charges of felony battery, criminal mischief and two counts of aggravated assault, according to court records.
An arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE says that Connaughton “threw urine in multiple bottles into the front door” of Doors, Moulding and More, a St. Petersburg business.
The bottles caused over $1,000-worth of damage “to various building materials” by “splattering [them] with urine,” according to the affidavit.
Two men gave chase after Connaughton allegedly fled, but when they reached the defendant, he allegedly raised his skateboard over his head as if he were going to hit the man, according to the affidavit.
Both of those alleged victims, along with an independent witness, told police that they saw Connaughton threaten each of the men with his skateboard, according to the affidavit.
Officers with the St. Petersburg Police Department arrested Connaughton shortly after the incident and booked him into jail.
Connaughton is now in the custody of the Pinelas County Sheriff’s Office and being held on a $22500 bond — $10,000 for each count of aggravated assault, $2,000 for felony battery and $500 for criminal mischief.
