A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a father and son were killed in a stabbing in London.
At 1:00 p.m. local time on Monday, July 28, police responded to reports of four people stabbed during an assault at a business unit in Long Lane, Bermondsey, the Metropolitan Police stated in a news release.
Among the victims were 58-year-old-Terry McMillan, who died at the scene, and his 27-year-old son, Brendan, who died later from his injuries. Police earlier reported that a man in his 30s was in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from the attack, along with a 47-year-old man, per their later release.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the stabbing on Monday. He was initially detained over the incident and is in the hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.
“A crime scene is in place at a nearby hotel where the arrested man went into. We are aware of speculation the man was staying at the hotel, this is not the case,” police said.
The stabbing took place at the office of the property development company Trademark Group, run by Terry in South London. The father of three founded the business in 1998 and ran several other businesses, as well as the charity The McMillan Family Trust, set up in 2007, per BBC News and The Telegraph.
