A man has reportedly been found guilty of first-degree murder after shooting his neighbor multiple times in a disagreement about smoking.

On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Sidney Bararchie Clarke, 31, of Brea, Orange County, was convicted of first-degree murder after shooting his 21-year-old neighbor, Logan Kahmar, according to The Orange County Register, Mynewsla.com, and Patch.

On Aug. 30, 2023, Kahmar was found dead with 17 gunshot wounds after authorities were called to his apartment complex, the Raintree Apartments in Brea, the outlets note.

“On August 30, 2023, at approximately 7:29 pm, Brea Police Department Dispatch began receiving numerous calls of gunshots being fired inside an apartment complex located at 650 N Tamarack Ave, Brea,” a police release read at the time. “Brea officers arrived within two minutes and located a male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
