Diddy Verdict: Jurors Reach Partial Verdict, Day 1 Recap

Jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ closely watched sex trafficking and racketeering trial have reached a partial verdict, marking a near end to a legal saga that spanned nearly a year.

In September 2024, Combs was indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution in the Southern District of New York and pleaded not guilty.

In the months between Combs’ indictment and his trial, which began in May, the Bad Boy Records founder remained behind bars, having been denied bail three times.

During the trial, prosecutors sought to portray Combs as the leader of a sprawling criminal enterprise and alleged that he sex trafficked two of his exes: Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a woman who testified under the name “Jane.”

Both women spent multiple days on the witness stand and testified about extended sex performances — referred to as “Freak-Offs” and “Hotel Nights” — with male sex workers they say they were made to participate in.

Defense attorneys attempted to undercut the women’s testimony by arguing that the sex was consensual and that there was not evidence that Combs had overseen a criminal racket.
