Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial entered its ninth day on Thursday, May 22, and another high-profile name took the stand.
Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, was called as a witness by the prosecution. Mescudi, the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper, was once in a brief relationship with Combs’ ex, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Ventura previously testified that Combs threatened her after finding out about her relationship with Mescudi and said the music mogul allegedly threatened to blow up the rapper’s car.
When Mescudi takes the stand, he will be the third well-known music industry figure to take the stand in Combs’ trial, after Ventura and former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard.
George Kaplan, Combs’ former personal assistant who took the stand Wednesday, began the day there Thursday.
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
