Following an explosive first week, the second week of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial has featured testimony from a former Danity Kane member and a woman who was best friends with Casandra “Cassie” Ventura for several years.
Proceedings on Tuesday, May 20, are beginning with Combs’ former personal assistant David James and could also feature an exotic dancer known as “The Punisher” as well as Ventura’s mother.
Ventura’s testimony has been the focus of the trial, with other witnesses having been asked about her alleged experiences.
On Monday, Dawn Richard — a singer who first became associated with Combs through the girl group Danity Kane — testified that she witnessed the music mogul assault Ventura.
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, and prosecutors will have to prove that he forced or coerced women into participating in elaborate sex acts known as “Freak Offs” and that he used his extensive business empire to facilitate criminal activity.
He has pleaded not guilty.
