The second week of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial kicked off Monday, May 19, after the first week was marked by explosive testimony given by the music mogul’s ex, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Ventura was on the stand for four days and levied serious accusations at Combs, including allegations that he raped her and exerted significant control over her personal life.
This week’s proceedings began with former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard, who first took the stand on Friday following Ventura.
Richard first became associated with Combs when she appeared on Making the Band 3, on which Combs started a girl group, Danity Kane. She later worked with the Bad Boy Records founder in his group Diddy-Dirty Money.
In September 2024, days before Combs was indicted, Richard filed suit against her former collaborator, accusing him of sexual abuse.
Combs is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors in Combs’ trial have set out to prove that he forced or coerced women into participating in elaborate sex acts known as “Freak Offs” and that he used his extensive business empire to facilitate several crimes.
