Sean “Diddy” Combs, having spent the past seven months in jail, now has a head of gray hair.
On the third day of jury selection for Combs’ sex trafficking trial on Wednesday, May 7, the Bad Boy Records founder appeared engaged in Manhattan federal court.
As potential jurors spoke, Combs — who is also sporting a gray beard — listened intently, wrote down notes and scanned the room, occasionally whispering to his attorney, Marc Agnifilo.
At one point, the music mogul quietly asked a visibly pregnant reporter, who is expecting twins, “How are you?”
Combs is fighting charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was indicted in the Southern District of New York in September and has pleaded not guilty.
The indictment is centered around alleged “freak offs,” which prosecutors allege were “elaborate and produced sex performances.”

Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, Combs’ ex, is expected to testify during the trial, PEOPLE previously reported.
Prosecutors also referenced surveillance video from a Los Angeles hotel appearing to show Combs assaulting Ventura in the indictment.
Combs, who was denied bail, has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn — where hair dye is banned — since his arrest. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
The court is expected to reach 45 qualified jurors by the end of Wednesday, but Judge Arun Subramanian said final cuts won’t be made until Friday, May 9.
Opening statement are expected to begin on Monday, May 12.
