NEED TO KNOW

  • A former stylist testified that Diddy threatened to send Cassie’s sex tapes to her parents’ workplaces
  • He said Diddy also threatened to beat Cassie and not release her music
  • The stylist said the alleged threats drove Cassie “crazy”

Deonte Nash, a stylist who worked with both Sean “Diddy” Combs and Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, testified at Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial Wednesday, May 28, that he once heard the music mogul threaten to release videos of her participating in sexual encounters known as “freak offs” at her parents’ jobs.

Nash, who worked for Combs from 2008 to 2018, said Combs threatened Ventura that her parents would be out of jobs.

Nash was asked by prosecutors about whether he had ever heard Combs threaten Ventura, known as Cassie.

“Yes,” Nash answered, adding that Combs would allegedly threaten to “beat her ass, he wouldn’t put her music out, he would send her [sex] tapes to her parents’ jobs.”

He said he heard Combs threaten to beat Ventura “quite a few” times.

“It drove her crazy,” Nash said. “She would be super emotional. She might stay in the house for days.”

Nash sighed and looked down as he spoke about the impact the alleged threats had on Ventura.

Last week, Ventura’s mother, Regina Ventura, testified that in 2011, Combs threatened to release explicit videos of Ventura after learning about her relationship with rapper Kid Cudi, whom she briefly dated in 2011. Regina Ventura said she took a home equity loan to pay Combs the $20,000 he demanded. She said Combs was angry about the money he had spent on Ventura during her relationship with Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi.

“I was physically sick,” she testified. “I did not understand it, the sex tape threw me. He was trying to hurt my daughter.”

Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The racketeering conspiracy charge carries a possible life sentence.
