Daddy Yankee has filed a $250 million lawsuit against his ex-wife and her sister, alleging the women mismanaged two of his companies and defamed him.

The Puerto Rican “Gasolina” rapper, 49, filed suit against his ex Mireddys González and her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos on Tuesday, March 4, accusing the sisters of breach of contract, financial mismanagement, breach of fiduciary duties, defamation and more, according a filing obtained by PEOPLE. The news was first reported by Billboard and the Los Angeles Times.

Attorneys for both parties did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

According to allegations in the lawsuit, González — from whom Daddy Yankee split in December after nearly 30 years of marriage — and Castellanos allegedly obtained $100 million from the corporate bank accounts of two of the music star’s businesses: El Cartel Records, which he founded in 1997, and Los Cangris Inc. (Billboard reported that Gonzalez previously served as CEO, and her sister as secretary/treasurer).

The suit alleged that the money was the sisters’ attempt to liquidate assets before they were forced, per a court order, to hand them over, according to the Times.

Yankee (né Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez) eventually became the president of the companies once more, and upon regaining control, allegedly discovered “administrative and fiscal irregularities,” according to the suit, including deleted emails and uncashed checks for royalty payments that had expired before Gonzalez and Castellanos ever deposited them, costing the star “thousands of dollars.”

“Mireddys and Ayeicha González Castellanos proceeded to concentrate in themselves a greater power than authorized and, together, made negligent and selfish decisions that were detrimental to both the companies and [Yankee] in his personal capacity and as an artist,” the lawsuit claims. “[T]hey did not give an accurate account of their actions, disregarded formalities and requirements of corporate legislation, made financially irresponsible decisions, negligently managed accounting and wrongfully alienated Mr. Ayala Rodríguez from decision-making.”

Yankee filed a motion against González in December, claiming she drew an unauthorized $80 million from the bank account of El Cartel Records, Billboard reported.

The couple — who share daughter Jesaaelys, 28, and son Jeremy, 26 — announced in December they would be divorcing, nearly 30 years after they married in March 1995.

“With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share some important news about my personal life. After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save my marriage, which my wife and I share, today my lawyers responded to the divorce petition received from Mireddys,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “I respect Mireddys’ decision…[and I appreciate the time we shared] full of blessings and values, of love and with a beautiful family that will continue to be our priority.”
