A man who co-hosts a podcast dedicated to the “occult, magick, spirituality, and everything clandestine” has been charged with the alleged murder of his girlfriend.
On Friday, Aug. 22, Tobias Marcus Nuttall from Brigadoon, Australia, appeared at Perth Magistrates Court, having been accused of killing his 30-year-old partner at a home in Bassendean on Wednesday, ABC News, News.com and 7 News reported.
He didn’t speak during the court appearance except to confirm his name, according to the outlets. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance, which is scheduled for Sept. 17 at Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court.
Nuttall, 32, was arrested at a home on Reid St. after police were called to a serious incident at the property at around 12:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, Aug. 20, per News.com. Police found a woman suffering from stab wounds.
The woman was in a critical condition when she was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital and later died from her wounds, according to the outlet.
Police and forensic officers remained at the scene on Thursday amid the ongoing investigation into the stabbing, per 7 News.
Western Australia Police Force and Perth Magistrates Court did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Friday, Aug. 22.

Before launching the Waking World podcast with co-host Dale, Nuttall graduated from the University of Notre Dame, 7 News and News.com reported, citing his social media accounts. He then began working for an NSW-based recruitment company.
According to the podcast’s summary on Spotify, it’s a place “Where Reality Gets a Reality Check.”

Dale updated listeners on Nuttall’s arrest on Friday’s episode, while revealing that he was torn about continuing the conspiracy theories podcast.
“It’s nothing to do with whether we’ve fallen out, it’s much worse than that,” Dale said. “Toby has been charged, or is being charged today, with a very, very serious offense over in Perth, something that happened on Wednesday.
“I know very little detail about it,” he continued, before adding, “I feel like I want to share something because it’s gonna come out in the news.”
