A Chicago mother is facing criminal charges in connection with allegations that she stabbed her three young children, police said.
On Wednesday, May 28, at about 5:45 p.m., a tow truck driver pulled over on South Harvard Avenue the moment he spotted a 1-year-old in the street wearing a blood-covered diaper, Chicago police said, per the Chicago Sun-Times.
The driver then saw Aurionah-Rakii-Karie Parker-White, 23, run out of her apartment building.
“She kept screaming like, ‘I need help! Help me! My baby!” the driver, DeVaughen Stringfellow, said, CBS News reports.
“I called the police,” he said. “They didn’t come. So, at first, I wasn’t going to put them in my truck with the blood — but I threw them all in the truck.”
Like the baby, Parker-White’s two older children, 3 and 5, were bleeding from their wrists, police said. Stringfellow then took the three children and their mother to a nearby hospital.
They were later transferred to the University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s Hospital, where they were listed in serious condition.

Parker-White’s 5-year-old son allegedly told hospital staff his mother had tried to kill him and his siblings.
The boy told staff that his mother “was going to make them go to heaven,” prosecutors said Saturday, May 31, NBC Chicago reports.
She was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated battery to a child.
Prosecutors say Parker-White allegedly admitted on video that she stabbed the children, saying that it was wrong, according to NBC Chicago. They say she said taking care of the children by herself has been stressful and that she wanted to kill herself and kill her kids.
Parker-White is being held at Cook County Jail while she awaits her next hearing on Friday, June 6.
It is unclear whether she has retained an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
