  • Elijah Blue Allman’s wife Marieangela King filed for divorce on April 8, citing irreconcilable differences
  • King is seeking $6,000 per month in spousal support and wishes to keep their 2017 Toyota Prius
  • Allman initially filed for divorce in 2021

Over a year after Elijah Blue Allman’s request for divorce dismissal was granted by a judge, his wife Marieangela King has filed a new motion.

On Tuesday, April 8, King filed for dissolution of marriage from Allman — who is Cher’s son — citing irreconcilable differences. Per the filing, which was obtained by PEOPLE, the pair — who tied the knot in December 2013 — separated on March 31 of this year.

According to the documents, King is requesting $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support. In addition, King wishes to keep their 2017 Toyota Prius. If Allman chooses to keep the vehicle, King requests “an additional $2,000 one-time payment and $500 per month in spousal support” so that King may “acquire a vehicle for her use.” She is also requesting he pay for attorney fees.

“We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart,” King told PEOPLE exclusively in a statement. “As we turn the page to this next chapter, we kindly ask for privacy and truly appreciate your understanding.”

Allman could not be reached for comment.

Cher’s Son Estranged Wife Alleges Singer ‘Continues to Interfere’ as Couple Agreed to Work on Marriage amid Divorce

In January 2024, Allman — who initially filed for divorce from King in 2021 — filed to dismiss it “without prejudice” and a judge granted it in February.

At the time of the dismissal, the pair had seemingly reconciled amid legal drama with the “Believe” singer, who filed an ex parte motion that he be placed in a temporary emergency conservatorship due to his alleged mental health and substance abuse issues. This was denied by a judge.

In a filing objecting to Cher’s request obtained by PEOPLE in January 2024, Allman wrote that he and King were “reconciling and cohabitating.” He also noted that Cher, 78, “objects to my reconciliation with Marieangela” and “refused” to pay his family law counsel.

At the time, King wrote in a filing of her own that she and Allman “live together as a married couple.”

“Elijah is a brilliant musical and conceptual artist and a king, thoughtful, and generous man,” she wrote. “He is the love of my life and I absolutely adore him. He is also a recovering drug addict and alcoholic.”

Meanwhile in October 2023, King claimed in a filing that she had not seen Allman for several months because Cher continued to “interfere” with her son’s “health management as well as his location and accessibility” during that time.

King stated in the declaration that after agreeing on April 21 to keep their divorce proceedings in a “six-month stay in discovery and litigation,” Allman — who was living with her at the time — “disappeared” and she had “not seen him in person since the end of April.”

At the time, King also requested he pay her legal fees and continued spousal support, in addition to the $40,000 in spousal support that she alleged he still owed her.

In September 2023, King accused Cher of hiring four men to kidnap her son in a form of intervention on Nov. 30, 2022. Speaking with PEOPLE in October 2023, the legendary singer said “that rumor is not true.”

Allman and Cher later reached a private agreement on the conservatorship, PEOPLE confirmed in September 2024.

“The team successfully defended Elijah, resulting in Cher voluntarily dismissing her petition. This outcome allows the parties to focus on healing and rebuilding their family bond, a process that began during mediation and continues today,” a statement shared with PEOPLE from Allman’s attorneys, Avi Levy and Steven Brumer of Cage & Miles, LLP, reads.
