Three people have reportedly died and others were injured after a shooting at El Camaron Gigante Mariscos & Steakhouse.

NBC News reported that “multiple shooters” were involved in the deadly shooting. No arrests have been made yet, according to reporting by CBS News.
“What I can confirm is that there are multiple people shot,” Officer Moroni Mendez said, per Fox 10. “The number is closer to 9 now. I can’t confirm whether that is the actual number, but it is more than three now.”

Despite the possibility of multiple shooters, Mendez said it did not pose a greater risk to public safety.
“There are no apprehensions at the moment. There are quite a few people detained, and we’re trying to investigate whether they’re suspects, victims, witnesses, investigative leads. There are multiple people that our officers and detectives are speaking to,” the officer said.
As they investigate the reason for the shooting, Mendez hasn’t ruled out the possibility that “two rival groups” were involved, according to NBC.

“Whether they know each other, whether they’re related, whether they’re allies or opponents, we don’t know yet, and that’s what we’re trying to solve and figure out,” Mendez said.
The outlet reports that information on the identities of the victims will not be made available while next of kin were informed.
Speaking about the incident, an unidentified witness told NBC affiliate KPNX of Phoenix that the restaurant El Camarón Gigante was holding a Cinco de Mayo party.
The event was reportedly family-friendly, with many people of all ages present when the shooting began.
The witness said he had just left the restaurant when he heard over 20 shots in a quick burst, followed by 10 more shots after a brief pause. His car was reportedly struck by stray bullets, causing damage.
He said that he helped provide medical assistance to one of the injured and that emergency responders were “doing pretty heavy-duty chest compressions” on others, according to NBC.
