According to the Associated Press, the shooting happened around a boat dock near the Intracoastal Waterway at around 9:30 p.m. in Little River, which is approximately 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach.
“We have received reports of others arriving at area hospitals via personal vehicles,” police stated, adding that it was “an active and ongoing investigation.”
Police later confirmed that they believed the shooting “to be an isolated incident.”
“There is no risk to the community at this time,” the HCPD said in the Facebook post, adding, “Updates will be provided when and as possible.”
