  • It comes after a man accosted her on the Wicked: For Good red carpet on Thursday, No.13
  • The man — identified as Johnson Wen, 26 — has been charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court

Ariana Grande is sending her love to Singapore after being accosted by a man during the premiere of her new film Wicked: For Good.

On Thursday, Nov. 13, Grande, 32 — who plays Glinda in the highly anticipated sequel — was seen walking the yellow brick road carpet at Universal Studios Singapore alongside costars Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo and Jeff Goldblum, when a man in a white shirt and shorts sprinted at her, then turned and grabbed her.

Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the movie, then moved towards the altercation, placing herself between Grande and the man. Members of security then stepped in and moved the intruder away from Grande, who looked visibly shaken by the incident.

The Australian man in question — who has since been identified as Johnson Wen, 26 — was charged with being a public nuisance by a Singapore court on Friday, Nov. 14, per the BBC.

Wen appeared in court on Friday via video link. He has no legal representation and is expected to plead guilty on Monday, Nov. 17, according to Singapore newspaper The Straits Times.

Spokespeople for Singapore Courts and the Singapore Police Force didn’t immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE for confirmation and additional information.

Putting the incident aside, Grande shared her love for the country on Instagram on Friday, posting several images from the movie’s press tour.

Multiple snaps showed the singer wearing a dazzling pink Balenciaga gown, while other shots showed her wearing the glittering Thom Browne dress she donned for the Singapore premiere. The carousel of images also included Grande posing for a selfie while wearing an under-eye mask.

Red carpet crasher Wen, who goes by the moniker “Pyjama Man” online, had documented attending the premiere before running at Grande.

“Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You ❤️,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Wen is known for crashing celebrity events and making headlines. In June, he jumped on stage with a shocked-looking Katy Perry, and in August, he crashed The Weeknd’s show before security rushed him off stage.

After his arrest on Thursday, he wrote in a further Instagram Stories post, “I’m free after being arrested.”

Ariana Grande attends the "Wicked: For Good" Asia-Pacific Premiere at Universal Studio Singapore on November 13, 2025 in Singapore.

Grande has previously spoken about her struggles with PTSD in the wake of the 2017 bombing of her Manchester concert, which left 22 people dead.

“Yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well,” Grande told British Vogue in 2018. “It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss … I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”

In the same interview, she opened up about her ongoing struggles with anxiety.

“I think a lot of people have anxiety, especially right now … My anxiety has anxiety,” she said at the time. “I’ve always had anxiety. I’ve never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour [in September 2017] it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.”
