An Arizona man is facing manslaughter charges after five dogs allegedly in his care attacked another man, who died of his injuries, say police.
Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, deputies responded to a 911 call on West Camino Tierra in Tuscon and found a man lying in the road suffering from serious injuries, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
The man, identified as Kevin Renguul, 43, was taken to a local hospital, where he died three days later, on Wednesday, April 2, according to the PCSD.
In its ensuing investigation, detectives learned the five dogs were allegedly in the care of Martin Martinez, 60, and had escaped from a nearby property and attacked Renguul, the PCSD reports.
After the alleged attack, Martinez had been initially charged with felony endangerment and felony assault by a vicious animal, according to the release.
After Renguul died, Martinez was additionally charged with manslaughter.
