A Detroit woman and man face charges — including torture — after allegedly assaulting a man who uses a wheelchair, attempting to force-feed him bleach and leaving him with severe head and brain injuries.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, Brittany Walker and Samuel Payton allegedly assaulted the victim, a 44-year-old man who uses a wheelchair, in a Detroit apartment on Jan. 29, FOX 2 Detroit reported.
Walker, 35, and Payton, 62, allegedly got into an argument with the victim before the assault, according to FOX 2. Both are accused of trying to force the victim to ingest bleach by pouring it down his throat, per the outlet.
Following the alleged assault, the unnamed man was taken to a hospital with a cranial bleed and left orbital wall fracture, FOX 2 reported.
The nature of the relationship between Walker and Payton is not immediately clear, nor is their connection to the victim.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Sunday, April 27, nor did attorneys for Walker and Payton.
Walker and Payton were arrested and charged with multiple felonies in relation to the assault in February, per court records viewed by PEOPLE. Both suspects’ bonds were set at $1 million.
