The Spyderco C63 Chinook was first released in 2001. It was big and heavy, and although I thought it ‘looked cool’ it was just way too heavy for me to spend my meager paycheck on. Fast forward to about ten years later, and I really wanted to add one to my collection. I really liked the -much lighter- Chinook Gen 2 and 3 etc… and came to the realization that the Gen 1 was such a cool knife that would make a perfect fit to my collection. The original C63 is not an easy knife to find on the secondary market. Fortunately, I’m starting to realize that if you want something bad enough it just seems to ‘float towards you’ later on in life. That’s what happened to me and my Gen 1 Chinook.

Another great piece by the Spydie OG. I like how he becomes a little philosophical about knife collecting.
