The Kyle Lamb-designed Civivi SOKN must’ve been a hit, because it’s already getting a larger sequel called the MDRN. The MDRN is not just a simple upscale, as while it retains the unique tactical grip of the SOKN, its blade profile is noticeably different.
The MDRN doesn’t quite double the blade length of the SOKN, but it comes pretty close (as a side note, the “MD” in its name makes us think of the word “medium;” does that mean an even larger one is on the way?). The smaller predecessor measured a small-but-mighty 2.8 inches, while the MDRN runs all the way out to 4.12 inches. It’s not an enormous cutting implement, but it is now large enough to be called a full-size fixed blade, with a wider suite of applications than baby brother.
