RoseCraft has announced that it will be moving away from the modern folder genre entirely. This means that the company will focus exclusively on traditional knife designs – and that there are big discounts on remaining RoseCraft modern folder stock.

Obviously, the RoseCraft name is most associated with traditional pieces, but modern designs have been a part of the company’s identity since it opened its doors in 2021. The first RoseCraft lineup featured an even-handed mix of modern and traditional pieces, including some of the first production designs from now-established talents like Savannah Swaggerty. But, according to the company itself, the traditional were always what resonated most with their audience.

“While our Modern Knives have the same quality of materials and workmanship, our customers just seem to love other categories way more, especially our traditional slip joint knives,” they write on their website. “That’s why we’ve decided to move away from Modern Knives altogether and focus on our Traditional, Modern Traditional and Fixed Blade lines.”

In the long-term, that mean that those categories will continue to grow now that RoseCraft isn’t dividing their design attention between formats. In the short-term, it means that all of the modern folders RoseCraft still has in stock are marked down, so if you’ve had an eye on any of those models, it would be wise to get while the getting’s good. There are dozens of pieces still available as of the time of writing.
