The Nevada Department of Public Safety—Highway Patrol Division has selected the KGM Technologies R556A2 Suppressor for deployment across its law enforcement divisions. The selection underscores KGM’s commitment to providing superior sound suppression, recoil mitigation and operational efficiency to law enforcement professionals. The R556A2 was chosen after extensive evaluation and is currently being fielded across the state.

“We are honored to support the Nevada Highway Patrol by equipping their rifles with our suppressors,” said Bill Bracken, director of government business development at KGM Technologies. “The R556A2 provides a great mix of performance enhancements through sound, flash and recoil reduction, with minimal impact to the host rifle. The use of suppressors on duty rifles is being recognized as a safety and performance enhancing tool to ensure officers can accomplish their mission safely and effectively.”

Nevada’s Highway Patrol Division, which was created in 1949 by the state legislature, has roughly 500 commissioned officers. Their mission is “…ensuring safe, economical, and enjoyable use of Nevada highways, protecting peaceful citizens against violence and disorder, and assisting law enforcement agencies throughout our State and nation.” Nevada covers 110,567 square miles and has more than 3 million residents.

The KGM R556A2 suppressor manages gas flow efficiently with a minimal backflow design that effectively reduces or eliminates impact on firearm operation and reliability. It redirects gas flow from the bullet, meets or exceeds SOCOM requirements and the Inconel core and stainless steel components ensure a long service life.

KGM Suppressors is a leading provider of advanced firearm suppressors for military, law enforcement and civilian applications based in Peachtree Corners, GA. Kyle Grob, president of the company, founded the firm in 2012. KGM Technologies made the prestigious Inc. 5000 list—the annual ranking of fastest-growing private companies in the United States—in 2022.
