Rotapoint Systems LLC has just unveiled a new optic mount that’s compatible with most reflex and red-dot sights and is meant to address crosseye-dominant shooters.

The new Rotapoint Systems Crossfix Mount is the only reflex/red-dot mount currently on the market purpose-built to address crosseye dominant shooters. That is, those who have a dominant eye opposite of their body’s strong side. Crosseye dominance affects nearly 20 percent of shooters and has traditionally required compromises such as awkward head positioning, closing one eye, or firing with the non-dominant hand.

“Crossfix addresses one of the most persistent challenges in marksmanship,” said Dave Sugg, founder of Rotapoint Systems. “For centuries, shooters with cross-dominance have had to adapt themselves to the weapon, equivalent to trying to throw a touchdown pass with the weak hand. Crossfix flips the script. Now the equipment adapts to the shooter, improving comfort, consistency, and ultimately, accurate hits on target.”

The Rotapoint Crossfix Mount sits on top of the firearm but is canted outwardly in order to better align itself with the shooter’s dominant eye. Rotapoint’s idea is that the shooter should maintain their natural and comfortable body position. Rotapoint machines its Crossfix mounts from 7075 T6 aluminum an and anodizes them with a Type III hardcoat. Aside from the unique angle, the mounts themselves are designed to clamp onto any standard M1913 Picatinny rail surface while also providing a smaller M1913 Picatinny base of their own for the dedicated optic.

Rotapoint Crossfix Mount Features

  • Two available mounts in 1.53 inch or 1.73 heights for shooter’s preference
  • CNC machined in the U.S.
  • Universal compatibility with a seven-slot Picatinny section and reversible for right or left handed use
  • Weight: 2.4 ounces
  • Material: 7075 T6 Aluminum
  • Finish: Black Type III hardcoat anodizing
