Ski season is around the corner, and as people weigh which pass to buy, Alterra Mountain Company is expanding its Ikon offerings. On August 26, the resort corporation announced that it was adding five new mountains to its pass in Italy’s Valle d’Aosta region for the 2025/26 season.

The addition of these resorts brings the total number of destinations on the Ikon pass to 56.

“We are proud and excited to join the Ikon Pass community,” Danilo Chatrian, project representative in Valle d’Aosta, said in a press release. “This partnership opens the door to U.S. skiers and riders, offering the opportunity to discover the breathtaking scenery and exceptional winter experiences that make Valle d’Aosta a true hidden gem of the Alps.”

The five new resorts include Courmayeur Mont Blanc, Cervino Ski Paradise, La Thuile Espace San Bernardo, Monterosa Ski, and Pila at Valle d’Aosta. Full Ikon Pass holders will have 7 days combined among these resorts, and Ikon Base Pass holders will have 5 days combined among them — neither pass will be subject to blackout dates at any of the five new destinations.

“Endless joy abounds when exploring the special mountain culture of the Alps, and Valle d’Aosta serves it up among five distinct mountains,” Erik Forsell, chief marketing officer for Alterra Mountain Company, said. “We are excited to expand Ikon Pass access in Europe by offering even more Italy for winter 25/26.”

New Mountains, Same Benefits

The five new European mountains join nine others already on the Ikon pass. These include Chamonix Mont-Blanc Valley in France, Dolomiti Superski and Valle d’Aosta in Italy, Grandvalira Resorts in Andorra, Kitzbühel and Ischgl in Austria, and Zermatt and St. Moritz in Switzerland.

Beyond Europe, the Ikon pass offers access to ski resorts in the U.S. and Canada, as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Chile.

In total, full Ikon Pass holders have unlimited access to 18 resorts, and up to 7 days each at 43 others.

Pass holders also get a host of benefits that Ikon has been slowly adding over the years. The pass gets you special deals with CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures and Mike Wiegele Helicopter Skiing. It also offers 25% off for friends and family; 15% off food, beverage, and retail; and more discounts on brands like The North Face, White Space, 4FRNT, and more. You even get a 1-year membership to Protect Our Winters (POW).

You can check out the full breakdown of Ikon and Ikon Base Pass benefits on the webpage.

Prices Will Go Up Soon

Right now, the adult Ikon Pass is $1,430 ($1,090 for kids 12 and under). Meanwhile, the adult Ikon Base Pass is $1,010 ($740 for kids 12 and under).

While those aren’t cheap price tags, they’re as affordable as they’ll get this winter. Ikon prices continually rise into the fall, usually going up in October and again in November before they sell out.

So, if you’re committed to buying your Ikon pass for the 2025/26 season, act now to save money. The clock is ticking, and snow is sure to start flying soon.

The Ikon website includes a list of its different passes and more details about what each one offers.
