JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Safariland®, a brand of The Safariland Group, a leading global provider of safety products designed for the public safety, military, professional and outdoor markets and one of Cadre Holdings, Inc.’s (NYSE: CDRE) (“Cadre”) key brands in coordination with Busch PROtective, is proud to announce it will be equipping Philadelphia SWAT, with the new FBI-DEA Certified AMP-1X lightweight ballistic helmets.
Philadelphia SWAT, America’s oldest SWAT team, is being outfitted with the newest and most technologically advanced helmet in the world, making them the first SWAT team ever to deploy the AMP-1X. Philadelphia SWAT is an early adopter, after attending a Safariland comparative shoot and witnessing the helmet system’s incredible ballistic protection, comfort and modularity.
“This new helmet system, along with the protective face shields and accessories, will allow our team to enhance operator safety while fulfilling any of our mission roles,” said Lieutenant William Schmid of the Philadelphia Police SWAT Unit. “From warrants and barricaded suspects to riot control, this helmet will be with us through it all.”
In early January, Safariland delivered the new AMP-1X Helmets set to publicly launch at the 2025 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, January 21-24. As the newest ballistic helmet model from Busch PROtective, the lightweight AMP-1X meets the rigorous FBI-DEA Ballistic Helmet Protocol 2024 V.2 while coming in nearly 20% lighter than their previous flagship model, the AMP-1TP, also FBI-DEA Certified.
“The AMP-1X is designed to meet the unique needs of law enforcement professionals,” said James Duncan, Vice President and General Manager of Armor for Safariland. “This launch, combined with the large order for the Philadelphia SWAT Team, shows our unwavering commitment to officer safety.”
