Thank you for being a part of GearJunkie’s two-decade journey as the leading voice of the outdoors. Today, I’m excited to introduce you to our next chapter.
As you’ve no doubt noticed, GearJunkie today looks very different than the website you visited yesterday. That’s because we’ve worked behind the scenes for the last year to build a modernized website that is faster, easier to navigate, and easier to read.
Acknowledging that the new appearance may be somewhat jarring to longtime readers, I want to assure you that our content, and our mission, remains the same — honest gear reviews, accurate outdoors news, and the best storytelling in the industry.
It’s what you’ve come to expect, and we will continue to deliver.
Navigating the New GearJunkie
As you explore the new website, you may notice a few differences.
- Gear Reviews: This tab will bring you directly to GearJunkie’s buying guides and product reviews. You can filter these by topic, such as camping, backpacking, or motoring.
- News: GearJunkie’s daily coverage of outdoor, public lands, and conservation news will live under the “News” category. Again, you can filter that category by topic to find the subjects you care about most.
- Partner Stories: Our deep content series made possible by our brand sponsors are located under the From Our Partners tab.
- Daily Spotlight: Each day, our most popular and impactful stories will be showcased here, front and center on the home page.
- Latest Stories: Find every story published on GearJunkie in chronological order under Latest Stories, which are prominent midway down the home page.
An Evolution, Not a Finish Line
As we launch our updated digital platform, please note that the site will continue to evolve.
No platform is meant to remain static. Our new design will adapt, improve, and stay relevant over time. This launch is a milestone, not an endpoint.
As such, we’d love to hear from you. What would you like to see in the new GearJunkie? We value your insight into the reader experience and welcome comments. You can always reach us at [email protected].
Again, thank you for your readership. It’s been a remarkable privilege building GearJunkie and nurturing it from a fledgling website into an important resource for millions of people. I can’t imagine where the next decade will take us, but I’m excited to buckle up for the ride.
