It’s not too often that historic hunting gear meets modern pop culture. Yet that’s the case with an upcoming auction selling off a handful of firearms and a hunting bow that belonged to Paul Walker, the Fast and the Furious star who died in a car accident in 2013.

Lock Stock & Barrel Auctions, a specialist in selling off hunting collectibles, announced hundreds of items for its September auction, including nine former possessions from the Hollywood star’s estate.

Walker’s prior ownership of the items certainly gives them some extra desirability, but several of them are truly collector’s items in their own right. The featured items include a Martin M044 Firecat Compound Bow, which Walker used on hunting trips while filming the 2006 movie Eight Below in Canada. There’s also a hammer shotgun manufactured before 1893. The firearm retains its original finish with patina, beautiful engraving, and silver inlays along the stock.

“Walker was more than a Hollywood star,” the auction service said in a press release. “Beloved worldwide for his role in the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise, Walker became a cultural icon whose passion, humility, and adventurous spirit reached far beyond the screen. Off camera, he was known as a dedicated father, a motorsport enthusiast, and a man who pursued life with authenticity.”

The 2-day auction takes place Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27-28, with bidding starting promptly at 9 a.m. each day. The auction is taking place at Cody Auditorium in Cody, Wyo. However, it’s also possible to place bids over the phone or online. Check the Lock Stock & Barrel Auctions website for more information.

Martin M044 Firecat Compound Bow

While most people will remember Walker for his connection to Hollywood car culture, he was also an outdoorsman and archery enthusiast.

That’s clear from the first item showcased in the auction: a Martin M044 Firecat Compound Bow. The bow is listed as in “very good condition,” and has a preauction estimate of $500 to $1,000.

The bow has a camouflaged metal frame with matching camouflaged fiberglass limbs, elegant brown two-piece walnut handles, a peak weight of 55 pounds, a holding weight of 50.7 pounds, a string length of 35 inches, and a draw length of 29 inches. It comes with two weights, a Cobra bow trigger, two extra bow strings, and two extra sight posts. It also includes the original “duck hunter” camo zippered nylon carrying case.

Janssen Sons & Co SX5 Hammer Shotgun

Another lot from the Walker estate is the Janssen Sons & Co IC/IC Belgium Steel Side by Side SX5 Hammer Shotgun.

This collectible was manufactured pre-1893 and is chambered in 12 Gauge with 2½” chambers and 30” barrels, both choked Improved Cylinder. It retains its original finish with patina. The bore rates 9/10 with a properly functioning action. It is classified as an antique black powder shotgun and carries a preauction estimate of $600-1,200.

It’s also a beautiful example of old-school attention to artistry, with embellished walnut in carved leaf and diamond patterns, detailed checkering, and silver pin inlays throughout. The straight grip buttstock ends in an engraved steel buttplate.

“The wrist is solid with no cracks or stress, and the wood-to-metal fit remains tight. Handling marks and light finish wear are present but minor. In this writer’s opinion, the wood rates Very Good to Fine,” according to the auction’s description.
