With warmer weather finally here to stay for most of the country, it’s a great time to break out the ol’ bike. Maybe that’s why we’ve got a cycling-heavy roundup of new gear today, from hybrid lights to chic helmets to a leveled-up e-MTB.

But you’ll also find delicious options for refueling on the trail, hybrid trail runners for climbers, and a sweet new iPhone case from one of our favorite brands. Check out the latest cool stuff the outdoor industry has to offer right here in Emerging Gear.

Garmin Varia Vue

Garmin just released the Varia Vue headlight camera. This latest addition to its lineup of accessories is designed to help increase safety and visibility for cyclists riding on roadways, the brand said.

This hybrid piece of gear includes both a 4K front-facing camera that saves video automatically if an incident is detected, along with a 600-lumen headlight. Users can also sync with the Varia RCT715 radar taillight camera (sold separately) to capture their ride from both angles.

Specialized Levo 4 e-MTB

You can spend even more time on the trails with the upgraded battery on the Specialized Levo 4 e-MTB. The latest model has up to 4.75 hours of battery range, along with the first SWAT storage on an e-MTB, offering integrated frame storage for essentials like tools and snacks.

Pricing for the new Specialized Levo 4 ranges from $7,500 to $13,500.

Nestout iPhone Case

Nestout has released a durable iPhone case aimed at outdoor fun. With shockproof durability, air-cushioned corners, and raised bezels, it’s meant to guard your iPhone against drops, shocks, and scratches, even in extreme conditions. Also, it offers a one-snap 360-degree mount, a dual-finger strap and stand, and an attachment hook for a variety of viewing and carrying options.

Compatible with iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, the new iPhone Case costs $60.

Vollebak Full Metal Jacket – Gold Edition

Nothing says billionaire midlife crisis quite like a $1,900 golden jacket made from 11 km of copper.

We first wrote about Vollebak’s Full Metal Jacket back in 2020. This waterproof jacket is made of mostly metal, is conductive to heat and electricity, and kills any virus or bacteria that touches it. And now you can get it in gold.

Not literally, although we wouldn’t be surprised if using actual gold is next on the list of Vollebak’s ever-increasing aptitude for bizarre, out-of-the-box apparel that costs more than a week-long camping trip. The gold edition costs the same as the other color options: just under $1,900.

Bravur Team Heritage STR

With its new STR timepiece, Swedish brand Bravur pays tribute to the one-time dominance of France’s St. Raphaël cycling team in the 1960s.

This classy design takes inspiration from the team’s kit, including red and blue rings on a white dial and luminescent-applied hour indexes at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. There’s also a small Bravur cycling cap at 6 o’clock.

The watch comes with a 37mm stainless steel case with bead-blasted, polished, and brushed surfaces. A black case offers a stealthy alternative. Both models are fitted to your choice with an integrated FKM rubber strap, black perforated leather, or a Milanese mesh bracelet. Powering both watches is a Sellita SW200, an automatic with a power reserve of 38 hours. The watches sell for just under $1,200.

Skratch Labs Cinnamon + Oatmeal Energy Bar

We can always rely on Boulder, Colorado’s Skratch Labs to come up with a new tasty treat for life outside, and the new Cinnamon + Oatmeal Energy Bar is no exception.

The energy bars include a mix of carbohydrates, fats, and protein. This time, they’ve also got cinnamon, toasted oats, and creamy almond butter for some delicious jet fuel for the body.

Each bar has 33 g of carbs, 6 g of fat, and 4 g of protein. The 200-calorie bars are also gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, kosher, and non-GMO. They’re available in a 12-serving pack for $30 or a single serving for $2.65.

Fizik Bike Helmets

Italian cycling brand Fizik has long been popular for its saddles and shoes. Now, the brand swerves into the helmet market as well. Its new line of helmets includes options for across road, gravel, triathlon, and trail.

Available in four models, the Kudo and Kudo Aero are designed for road, gravel and XC. The Kassis is tailored for off-road trail riders, while the Kunée is optimized for Time Trial and Triathlon.

Arc’teryx Vertex Speed

Arc’teryx knows how to make a shoe that combines style with lightweight functionality (looking at you, Norvan SL 3) and the brand’s newest release looks equally ready to shred some trails.

The company just launched the Vertex Speed, which it calls a next-generation mountain running shoe engineered for technical terrain. This hybrid shoe combines a trail runner with a technical climbing shoe. That means it may just help you cruise up technical ascents with a zoned, grippy outsole.

One version of the shoe also comes with a built-in gaiter to keep out the dirt and pebbles. It costs $190 with the gaiter or $180 without.

Tailwind Nutrition High Carb Fuel

Chow down those calories even faster with Tailwind Nutrition’s High Carb Fuel. The new drink mix delivers 90g of carbs per serving in an “ideal” 2:1 glucose-to-fructose ratio,” the brand said. It’s designed for endurance athletes looking to maximize energy absorption and minimize GI distress.

Cabeau Evolution X Neck Pillow

Looking for a better neck pillow? California-based Cabeau, a travel brand, thinks it has found a better design with the Evolution X ($50).

Cabeau calls this “the world’s first travel pillow designed to keep your head from tilting no more than 10° in any direction.” This, ostensibly, helps ensure you sleep comfortably without neck pain. A back neck strap will help customize the fit, while a front closure keeps it in place.
