The first-ever cooler from Solo Stove aims for more than keeping your food fresh. Known for its smokeless fire pits, Solo Stove has introduced a cooler that doubles as an air conditioner.

Yes, it purports to retain ice for days, and can also charge your phone. But the real kicker? The Solo Windchill 47 Cooler has a built-in A/C that doubles as a mister shooting out from the top of the cooler. This powered system uses a built-in heat exchanger, high-powered fan, and water pump. And it’ll convert that melted ice to a pleasant “fine mist.”

“It’s real air-conditioning!” the website brags, promising the Windchill won’t sound like a generator. Solo Stove compares the noise level to a standard fan.

Solo Stove claims the A/C cooling feature lasts over 3 hours per charge. According to the product page, two bags of ice are all that’s needed — ice that will last up to 6 days when used as a traditional cooler (lid closed, of course).

Solo Windchill 47: Cooler With A/C

Solo Stove isn’t the first brand to attempt a cooler-air conditioner combo. GearJunkie Hunt and Fish editor Rachelle Schrute brought the IcyBreeze cooler-A/C combo on a late summer fishing trip. This setup is a bit of a novelty for sure, but it’s not without its benefits on particularly hot days.

The Solo Windchill 47 clocks in at 42.4 pounds. It comes with a pair of “all-terrain” wheels, a telescopic handle, and side grips for lugging it across grass, gravel, or sand. As for capacity, it’s meant to hold up to 65 cans.

The cooler has two battery options. The 10Ah battery lasts up to 9.5 hours on low, 4.5 hours on medium, and 2.5 hours on high. The 17Ah battery lasts up to 16.2 hours on low, 7.6 hours on medium, and 4.5 hours on high. If you’re just grilling on your patio or boat, you can also plug the cooler into an outlet for continued use.

The Windchill comes with three modes: Max Cool Mode, which creates the coldest breeze, Mist Mode for a light mist, and Eco Mode, which is just a fan. It’s also equipped with other convenience features: drink holder, bottle opener, double drink holder, side table, and built-in USB-C and USB-A ports.

Solo Windchill 47 Cooler: Availability and Options

While it’s a big step outside of fire-based fun, this isn’t Solo Stove’s first foray outside of smokeless fire pits. The brand also sells pizza ovens, patio and garden tools, and accessories like heat deflectors, spark protectors, and cast iron cooktops.

At $650, the Solo Windchill 47 isn’t cheap for a cooler. If you’re looking for a powerful cooler, but don’t need the extravagance of A/C, check out GearJunkie’s picks for Best Budget Electric Coolers of 2025.

Will this cooler be as big of a hit as the smokeless fire pit? It’s hard to say. But with summers getting hotter every year, we wouldn’t bet against it. Learn more on Solo Stove’s website.
