Honda just keeps going off-roading. The 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport brings the company’s rugged off-road package to the compact crossover for the first time. It comes with some extra cladding and other rugged details. It also adds all-terrain tires for the first time on a factory CR-V.
20% of Shoppers Pick TrailSport
TrailSport is popular. Honda now sells TrailSport versions of the Passport, Pilot, and the Ridgeline pickup, and it says 20% of buyers are picking the option. That’s a serious number, so it’s pretty clear why the package has migrated down to the CR-V.
Shark Grey 18-inch wheels wearing Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires are the biggest and most functional change for the TrailSport. Honda says they “substantially improve” off-road traction, though they’re still in keeping with the CR-V’s nature. That is, this isn’t a rock crawler and it never will be. Which raises the question as to whether they’re a feature you really want or one that just looks tough?
A new front fascia with more shiny black plastic comes with a silver fake skid plate garnish. The TrailSport has a black rear spoiler, door handles, and trim around the glass, along with new orange TrailSport badges.
There are some changes inside, too. Honda adds TrailSport fabric with orange accents. It also comes with ambient lighting in amber and rubber all-season mats.
Honda CR-V TrailSport First One With Hybrid Power

The TrailSport CR-V doesn’t have any extra ground clearance, so it will offer the same 8.2 inches as the standard model. It does, however, offer one thing that no other TrailSport offers.
It’s Honda’s only crossover with a hybrid system, so naturally, the TrailSport version of the CR-V gets that system too. A 2.0L I4 with two-motor hybrid delivers 204 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. AWD is standard, and Honda has enhanced the traction control system for off-road driving.
Every 2026 Honda CR-V gets a new 9-inch touchscreen. That’s an upgrade to 2 inches larger than last year. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard, as does a wireless phone charger. Higher trims, including the TrailSport, get a larger 10.2-inch digital dash, and the Sport Touring Hybrid gets a Google built-in system. The 2026 Honda CR-V TrailSport will arrive at dealers later this spring. Expect pricing closer to its on-sale date.
