Power stations are usually heavy, clunky, and tough to carry around. But EcoFlow may have just introduced a possible solution: a 4-pound device that it claims can power a campsite for two full days. The TRAIL series offers multiple slimmed-down power stations that deliver EcoFlow’s reliable charging capabilities without weighing as much as a cinder block.

Is it a power bank or a power station? The answer is still unclear, but tech obsessives and power-hungry backpackers will surely recognize the utility of these more portable power hubs. The TRAIL series launched on July 24, 2025, and will be available on the EcoFlow website soon.

“TRAIL series is our answer to a growing generation of consumers who want gear that’s as lightweight, functional, and free-spirited as they are,” Brian Essenmacher, head of North American business development at EcoFlow, said in a press release. “We designed the series to focus on DC power only — working smarter, not harder, so you can spend less time worrying about gear and more time enjoying the outdoors.”

EcoFlow has long been a leader in power storage. Its River 3 Plus Power Station was our top budget portable power station in 2025. Now, it’s seeking to attract outdoor enthusiasts who want charging capabilities designed for a campsite rather than an RV park.

EcoFlow TRAIL Power Stations: 48% Lighter, 60% Smaller

To reduce the weight of the TRAIL collection, EcoFlow decided to remove the bulky AC converter found in most power stations. The brand cited that most devices, from smartphones to tablets to wearables, can be charged via USB, which runs on DC power.

“Many outdoor enthusiasts today don’t need to power AC devices with traditional wall outlet plugs,” the press release stated. Removing AC charging capabilities allowed EcoFlow to develop a power station that was unlike its previous product offerings.

EcoFlow Director of Communications Ryan Oliver told GearJunkie, “We wanted to offer a solution that provides more power, capacity, and recharge options than typically provided by power banks but in a smaller, lighter form factor than you get from most power stations.”

The result is a power station that is 48% lighter and 60% smaller than other EcoFlow power stations with comparable charging capacities.

Compared to other power stations on GearJunkie’s guide to the Best Portable Power Stations, the TRAIL series products would be the lightest on that list. It would also have the third-lowest output — so there’s a tradeoff buyers should weigh.

The EcoFlow TRAIL Power Station line includes three models: the TRAIL 200, 300, and Plus 300. The 200 weighs 4.03 pounds and delivers a 192Wh capacity and 220W output with four USB ports.

For even more power, there’s the 300, which weighs 5.69 pounds and has a capacity of 228Wh and an output of 300W with five ports. The deluxe model, the Plus 300, adds a camping light and a detachable 140W charging cable handle. All models can be recharged via solar, grid, and a 12V vehicle charger.

Beginning August 1, customers can purchase the TRAIL 200 and 300 on Amazon and the EcoFlow website. The Plus 300 will be available later in October.
