The creators of the original dune buggy and some British rally car experts have just created a monster. It’s called the Meyers Manx LFG, and it will be almost as exclusive as it is capable.

The buggy will include a carbon fiber body and protection system, serious performance engines, and shocks with more adjustments than your office chair. It is all to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Manx winning the first Mexican 1000 off-road race.

Imagine a Manx From a 911, Not a Beetle

Yes, the Meyers Manx has been around and been winning races since even before the Baja 1000 got that name. This performance car is the ultimate interpretation of that original VW-based model, but everything is turned up to 11.

“We call it LFG for a reason,” said Meyers Manx board chair Phillip Sarofilm. It’s not hard to see why with a look at the result.

Forget about the original steel and fiberglass design. This car has a carbon fiber body along with a roll-over protection structure for lightness and safety. Then, it crams a powerful engine under the hood, including one of Tuthill’s Porsche 911–derived K engines. Those flat-sixes can make up to 350 horsepower and rev to 11,000 rpm, depending on the spec.

The LFG will come with a six-speed sequential transmission. It will have four-wheel drive and will come with limited-slip differentials in the front, center, and rear.

5-Way Adjustable Suspension & Air Conditioning

This car has a serious suspension. Twin five-way adjustable dampers with hydraulic bump stops at each corner soak up everything. BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires help ensure it can get there and back.

The LFG is so far from anything else from Meyers that it even has an enclosed cabin. With air conditioning! You can, at least, remove the cockpit to turn it into an open-air machine and enjoy the wind in your face in this very fast buggy.

Everywhere you look, there are more high-end details. Integrated GPS for off-road navigation, a big-buck but ultra-light Inconel exhaust, and a long-range fuel tank, to start.

Meyers Manx LFG Customers Will Get Years of Special Events

Tuthill and Meyers Manx are only going to build 100 of these, and they will come with some extra special experiences.

Tuthill is known for its curated rally experiences almost as much as for the cars it builds to complete them, and the LFG will be no different. Owners will get exclusive access to 6 years of driving adventures around the world. The first of those will be held in 2027 in Baja, to mark that 50th anniversary.

“The car looks fun, mischievous, it has a character that I have genuinely never seen or felt. But underneath it’s PROPER — could we go to the moon and back in it? Probably yes,” said Tuthill director Richard Tuthill.

Let’s f’ing go (LFG), indeed!
