This is wild. One would assume that the island in question was Britain, but you would be wrong. Apparently the one-party fiefdom that is Hawaii has decided that fiscal responsibility be damned, we need to remove granny’s kitchen knife from the street. Out of curiosity, what is an “assault knife”? If I hit you with my stapler, it becomes an assault stapler. “Assault”is a verb, not an adjective. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/196z4dW7Lz/ The responses were pure gold. My favorite is the guy who said he is going to buy a lot-box of confiscated TSA knives and become rich. While I am…
Snakestaff Systems has announced the release of the Universal Snakeskin, a do-it-all tourniquet carrier designed to provide a versatile mounting solution across a broad range of professional, recreational, industrial, and everyday applications. Developed for compatibility with both the Snakestaff ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™, the Universal Snakeskin addresses a longstanding challenge: securely mounting a tourniquet where immediate access makes the most sense. While traditional mounting solutions have largely been limited to tactical equipment or purpose-built platforms, many everyday environments—including vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, heavy equipment, work gear, and recreational equipment—have lacked a practical, secure means of carrying hemorrhage control equipment. The Universal…
It’s dawn at the apple orchard with birds chattering overhead. I’m waking up 6 feet off the ground with dewy grass below. It was one of the best nights of sleep I’ve ever had while camping. Listen, I’ve spent plenty of nights on the ground. From backpacking across Scotland to cowboy camping in Moab, I’ve learned to accept thin sleeping pads. Uneven campsites. And restless nights. That changed the first night I slept in the new iKamper Skycamp 4.0 Trio. iKamper recently upgraded its Skycamp series from its 3.0 line to the current 4.0. Updates include a taller headspace in…
Hillsborough, NC 7/30 Reptilia announces the launch of the CANNO, a purpose-built, pocket-sized container designed to provide a more durable and practical way to carry nicotine pouches. Designed with the same attention to detail and functional approach found throughout Reptilia’s product line, the CANNO gives users an alternative to carrying nicotine pouches in the disposable plastic cans they originally come in. Compact enough for everyday carry, the CANNO is designed to keep nicotine pouches organized, protected, and ready when needed. Its small footprint makes it easy to carry in a pocket, range bag, vehicle, or everyday carry setup. The CANNO…
What are the odds that you’ll ever need to use a gun for self-defense? Here we break down the data.A few months ago, John Correia of Active Self Protection was confronted by a burglar in his own home. The man fled, no shot was fired, and Correia walked away thinking about a question many armed citizens eventually ask. Realistically, what are the odds I will ever need my gun? In a video on his channel, he ran the numbers from two major firearms surveys and arrived at a startlingly large lifetime probability. This article borrows his framework and pushes further…
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires has launched Reveille Forge\, an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) at Redstone Arsenal. The now-operational facility capitalizes directly on the momentum from the Pathway for Innovation and Technology (PIT) led Operation Jailbreak’s Sprint 1 and the Army’s first ever API Marketplace\, which went live May 6. Designed to maintain a lean standing footprint\, Reveille Forge remains poised to surge support when directed to integrate new capabilities for immediate deployment to operational theaters. Operation Jailbreak’s first sprint focused on countering Unmanned Aerial System and Integrated Air and Missile Defense threats, bringing together more than 50…
When you’re out in the backcountry, just about any meal tastes gourmet, but Jetboil’s new stove system, the TrailCook, turns that perception into reality. The TrailCook stove system takes all of Jetboil’s tried-and-true features and elevates them. This stove system offers more control than ever in backcountry cooking, with its turn-and-click igniter and regulator, mirroring the functionality of a house gas stove. Its larger size provides greater stability, even in high-elevation winds, but it still breaks down to fit inside the pot. With the option to sauté and simmer, this stove system is for adventurers in larger groups who enjoy…
Touring the country is a magnificent and popular adventure. Using a camper trailer is an economical way of getting around for long and short journeys. It can be less expensive than hotels, requires less maintenance and upkeep than a motorhome, and the tow vehicle can be used for trail and around-the-city duties. Well-constructed trailers allow us to venture through and settle in closer to nature, away from everyday distractions. Setups with solar panels, battery power, water tanks, and propane help us go even further off-grid and stay untethered longer. After testing a wide variety of camper trailers, our team narrowed…
Earlier this week the Government of Canada launched the Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) to accelerate the development, testing, adaptation, and production of uncrewed and autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG). Led collaboratively by the Department of National Defence and the Defence Investment Agency (DIA), the initiative will establish a competitive supply arrangement that connects operational requirements with Canadian innovation and creates a more agile pathway to develop, acquire and integrate these technologies. Recent conflicts have shown that drone technology evolves rapidly. Canada has world-class expertise across aerospace, robotics, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing,…
Beginning July 29, fishing on every river and stream in Yellowstone NP is prohibited daily from 2 p.m. until sunrise the following morning. Rivers and streams will remain open from sunrise until 2 p.m., while Yellowstone Lake and the park’s other lakes remain open from sunrise to sunset. Park officials said that water temperatures have exceeded 68 degrees Fahrenheit in recent days, while flows on many rivers have dropped below long-term averages. Warm water carries less oxygen and places additional stress on cold-water fish, particularly when trout are caught, handled, and released. Existing Full Closures Remain in Place The new…
